1. Long Radius and Short Radius Elbow

Elbows are used to change the direction of flow between two pipes. The short radius elbow is generally used for low-pressure fluids whereas the long radius elbow is used in terms of high pressure. The radius generally depends upon the diameter of the pipe.

2. Pipe Reducer

To reduce the flow, generally, the reducer is used. Mainly there are concentric and eccentric pipe reducers. A concentric pipe reducer has a cone shape with a progressive contraction around the pipe that directs to the collection of air and hence cause cavitation.

On the other hand, the eccentric pipe reducer does not face any problems of Cavitation because one of its edges is parallel to connecting pipe, reducing any possibility of air collection.

3. Cross-type

The cross-type fitting consists of four openings and is used to adjoin four pipes a single point. Mainly used in fire sprinkling systems, they are made to create a great force at the central point where all the pipes meet.
